Who are we?

We are students from Woonsocket Middle School, Woonsocket High School and Mount St. Charles, in grades 6 to 12, who are committed to a substance free lifestyle.

What do we do?

We participate in monthly meetings. We have guest speakers, discussion questions, and a lot of fun! We also participate in various community service projects, an annual youth conference, and other substance abuse prevention issues affecting Woonsocket youth. Community service hours are given for attending Youth Committee events!  Community Service is important when you start to fill out college applications because colleges are looking not just at grades and SAT scores.  They are looking at a "well-rounded" student

How do you get involved?

Come to our monthly meetings, usually the first Tuesday of each month. at Woonsocket City Hall, 169 Main Street, on the 3rd Floor at 2:30pm. The meetings last until 4:00pm.

  • ...tobacco is just as addictive as cocaine or heroin?

  • ...ecstasy can cause increased heart rate and blood pressure which can lead to death?

  • ...binge drinking (having more than 5 drinks in a row in a short period of time) can cause alcohol poisoning & death?

  • ...there is a connection between substance abuse and violence.
